How MICAMPONSAH Is Supporting Women in Agritech

In many Ghanaian communities, women form the backbone of agricultural production, yet they often face the greatest barriers to financial inclusion—from lack of land access to limited digital skills or financial education.

MICAMPONSAH ENTERPRISE is on a mission to change this.

We believe that empowering rural women with the right tools and knowledge doesn’t just help families—it transforms entire communities.

The Challenges Women Face

  • Limited control over household finances
  • Low mobile phone ownership rates
  • Cultural barriers to attending trainings
  • Lack of access to loans or savings groups

These challenges result in missed opportunities for women entrepreneurs, food processors, traders, and farmers to grow their businesses and contribute fully to the local economy.

What MICAMPONSAH Is Doing

We’ve designed our platform and outreach strategy with women in mind:

  • Gender-sensitive financial training programs delivered in local languages and flexible schedules
  • Women-led savings groups with digital access and support
  • Partnerships with women’s cooperatives and NGOs to distribute low-cost mobile devices
  • Female fintech ambassadors in rural communities who provide ongoing support

“I never thought I could use a mobile phone to save money or track sales. Now I teach others in my village,” says Janet, a cassava farmer in Volta Region.

Building Resilience & Wealth

When women have access to finance, the results ripple outward. Studies show that women reinvest up to 90% of their income back into their families and communities.

With MICAMPONSAH, we’ve seen:

  • Improved child nutrition and school enrollment
  • Increased production from female-owned farms
  • More women launching agri-businesses (like soap-making, poultry, and rice milling)

Our Vision

By 2026, MICAMPONSAH aims to reach 20,000 women farmers and agri-entrepreneurs across Ghana, equipping them with tools to thrive in the digital economy.

Because when rural women rise, communities rise.
